About Supination
Supination
When you walk, if your weight ends up on the outside of your foot and not on the inside, this is called Supination. Supination, also known as under pronation, can cause discomfort and pain in your ankles, knees, hips and back.
Using an insole or insert that is specifically designed for Supination will help give you the correct foundation while helping to align the rest of your lower body. When looking for an insole or an insert, make sure that it has a deep heel cup for stability, an arch support with a semi-rigid orthotic support or rigid orthotic support, to prevent arch collapse and promote proper foot alignment.
