3/4-Length Insoles

About 3/4-Length Insoles

What are ¾-length insoles?

¾-length insoles are designed such that they only run from the heel through the arch of your foot, intentionally without any forefoot component. These are designed to supplement an existing full-length insole.

Can I wear ¾-length insoles without an existing insole in my shoe?

Technically yes. However, keep in mind that ¾-length insoles won’t offer anything in terms of forefoot comfort. The bottom of most shoes are rough, so wearing a ¾-length insole without at least a sock liner beneath it may be uncomfortable on your forefoot and toes.

Can ¾-length insoles be used with any full-length insole?

For best fit, ¾-length insoles should only be worn atop a flat full-length insole or sock liner. If you were to place a ¾-length insole atop a full-length insole with an arch support or other contours, the ¾-length insole may not sit properly or comfortably in your shoes.

What are the advantages of ¾-length insoles?

In shoes where the existing shoe insole cannot be removed, ¾-length insoles will allow you to add additional support and comfort for the heel and arch of your foot without adding additional volume in the toe-box of the shoes. Since the toe-box of shoes tends to be the most tight-fitting part, this allows you the benefits of added support without making your shoes too tight.

Any other considerations for ¾-length insoles?

How much room you have in your shoes, whether or not you can or want to remove your existing shoe insoles, and the type of cushioning and support you need are all important factors when deciding whether a ¾-length insole will work for you. If the instep of your shoes is already tight, adding a ¾-length insole may not work, for example. ¾-length insoles help provide cushion and support without adding volume under the forefoot and toes.
