High Arch Insoles

You're currently browsing our entire selection of high arch insoles. Use the product filters below to narrow your selection, try our Insole Finder for a quick recommendation, or contact us if you have any questions.

Why do you recommend these items?

Our recommendations for high-arched insoles includes insoles featuring an arch height of at least 29mm, with preference given to insoles designed specifically for high-arched feet or which otherwise are designed to provide the best high arch support.

Our overall top pick here is the PowerStep Pinnacle High Insole. These are based on the PowerStep Pinnacle insole, which is one of the absolutely best-selling arch support insoles. The Pinnacle High insole raises the arch height of the insole to 35mm, making it one of the highest arch height insoles available. The insole features a semi-rigid arch support, a nice deep heel cradle for enhanced support and stability, and a moderate amount of cushioning throughout the insole. As an all-around solid high arch insole, this is easily one of the best.

For those seeking extra firm arch support, we'd recommend the Superfeet Green Insole. The Superfeet Green insoles have been around for over 50 years and offer rigid arch support with an arch height of 33mm. With excellent arch support, a deep heel cup for enhanced stability and support, and firm cushioning from heel to toe, the Superfeet Green are undoubtedly one of the best insoles for high arches and firm foot support.

The Sof Sole FIT Insoles come in three variants, one of which is designed specifically for those with high arches. The FIT insoles offer extra-firm heel and arch support, with an arch height on the "high arch" variant of 33mm. With excellent midfoot support, a nice deep heel cradle, and a good amount of cushioning across the top, these insoles are best for those seeking firm support who still want a bit of plush cushioning against their feet.

Other considerations for high-arched insoles include:

  • IceBug Comfort and Icebug Slim: The Comfort insoles offer semi-rigid arch support, metatarsal support, and good cushioning throughout in addition to offering high-arch support, while the Slim is effectively the same insole albeit with less cushioning for a slim-fit design.
  • Superfeet Run Cushion and Currex RunPro: For those looking for high arch support during high-impact activities, both the Superfeet Run Cushion insoles and the Currex RunPro insoles offer high arch-specific variants and are designed for enhanced cushioning and shock absorption for high-impact activities.
  • Birkenstock Blue Tradition Footbed: For those seeking a 3/4-length design (such as for use in shoes without removable insoles), the Blue Tradition insoles are a customer favorite for providing high arch support in a 3/4-length insole.

We choose our product recommendations based on a combination of our own usage & opinion of the products, product design & product features, conversations we've had with our customers regarding their product usage & experience, and collective customer product feedback & reviews.

About High Arch Insoles

What determines whether or not an arch support insole is high-arched?

We define “high arch” as an arch height that measures between 29-35mm in height from the base of the insole to the peak of the arch support. Insoles with arch heights in this range tend to be the most comfortable for those with high-arched feet.

Note: It’s not important to know the exact height of your own foot arch. Those with high-arched feet can almost always comfortably wear any insole with an arch height of 29-35mm.

A chart showing the footprint of a low-arched foot vs. medium-arched foot vs. high-arched foot
A low-arched foot will have a footprint most similar to the one shown on the left, while a high-arched foot will have a footprint most similar to the one shown on the right.

How do I know if I have high-arched feet?

There’s a simple way to determine your foot arch type at home, called the “wet foot test.” All you do is get your foot wet, step on a flat surface where you’ll be able to see your footprint, and then compare the footprint shape with the chart below. Whichever shape most closely matches your own footprint is the arch height you naturally have (the more your midfoot contacts the ground, the lower your arches).

Those with high-arched feet should see a very prominent arch outline (in the footprint, the part of the midfoot that doesn’t touch the ground) and most of the midfoot should not leave a print. When you take a step, only the outermost edges of your midfoot contacts the ground, leaving a distinctive “narrow” footprint shape.
