Patricia asks us:
I've been looking for insoles that provide good support for high arched feet like mine. I've tried two different insoles advertised to be "high arched" and they just don't fit right. What are some truly high arch insoles that I can try?
Hi Patricia, and thanks for asking! Happy to help.
A little background on arch heights, first. We typically divide arch height (both for your feet and for insoles) into three broad categories: low arched, medium (or neutral) arched, and high arched. However, both feet and insoles can sit somewhere in-between two of these, e.g. kinda-high-kinda-medium or kinda-low-kinda-medium. Some insoles do offer support for high arches, though their actual arch height is somewhere between most medium and high arched insoles.
Truly high arched insoles are typically those with an arch height 30mm and up, and that's what we're going to recommend. For truly high arch insoles like you're seeking, it's also useful to look for insoles designed specifically for high-arched feet, as these insoles are less likely to be in that somewhere-between-medium-and-high range.
So, recommendations:
- Sof Sole FIT (High Arch variant): The Sof Sole FIT insoles are among the most high-arched of all the insoles we carry, and they've remained that way despite other changes to the product design over the years. Featuring a 33mm arch height, rigid support, and a deep heel cup, these insoles will provide firm and truly-high-arch support for your feet.
- PowerStep Pinnacle High: The Pinnacle High is a relatively new addition to the PowerStep Pinnacle lineup and was added specifically to cater to those with very high-arched feet. With a semi-rigid arch support and an arch height of approximately 35mm, this is one of the highest-arched over-the-counter insoles available. Given that the regular Pinnacle insole is one of our most popular insoles ever, the Pinnacle High brings a lot of benefits in a truly high-arched insole.
- 10 Seconds 3810 Ultra Arch Support: The Ultra Arch surprises most people with how much support it has to offer. Even though this semi-rigid arch support only has an arch height of 30mm (your typical high-arch height), the addition of a prominent cushion pad that runs from the heel all the way through the metatarsals provides more support than just the arch alone. This is a great choice for high arch support and plush cushioning.
Hopefully these recommendations make sense to you! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know!
