About Volleyball

Volleyball is an extremely physically-demanding sport that puts a great deal of strain on your feet. Jumping during serves, sets, spikes, and blocks places immense pressure on the feet during both take-off and landing. Running to receive or reset your position adds to this as your feet push off and strike the court with each step. And even diving to make the critical next touch puts strain on your forefeet and toes as you lunge. Add to all this that you're constantly on your feet while active on the court, even when just resetting between rallies, and it's easy to see why so many volleyball players — professionals & amateurs alike — suffer from foot pain. It's simply a very stressful sport for your feet.

A good pair of supportive insoles can help alleviate much of the strain that volleyball puts on your feet, helping to keep you in the game longer, perform better, and finish each match more pain-free. But what exactly is the ideal volleyball insole?

The best insoles for volleyball feature the following:

  1. A slim overall profile, which will allow them to fit nicely inside most volleyball shoes (which tend to have a more low-profile shape compared to a typical sneaker).
  2. Lightweight, which will ensure that you're able to move, run, and jump without any added effort due to weight.
  3. Shock-absorbent, in order to minimize the impact of running and jumping on the foot.
  4. Supportive, in order to better distribute pressure across the full foot, eliminating singular sore spots.
