High Arch Insoles

About High Arch Insoles

What are high arch insoles?

High-arch insoles are designed with an arch support that mostly closely matches the average arch height of a high-arched foot. If you have feet with high arches, these insoles will provide good support for your feet.

If you have medium/neutral-arched feet, a high arch insole will provide more arch support and you would need a medium/neutral arched insole instead. If you have low-arched feet, a high arch insole will provide much more arch support and you would want to take a look at a low arch insole.

How high is the arch on a high-arch insole?

Typically around 30mm, but medium arch insoles can range anywhere from 27mm to 35mm in total arch height.

If my feet don't have high arches, can I wear a high-arch insole?

We generally recommend wearing an insole where the arch height of the insole is close to that of your foot. In other words, if you have high-arched feet, we recommend a high arch insole, but if you have medium-arched or low-arched feet, we instead recommend a medium-arch insole or low-arch insole instead.

If your foot arch is between two foot arch heights according to the Wet Test (i.e. your foot could be considered medium-arched or high-arched), the general rule of thumb is that a higher arch will provide more support while a lower arch will provide less support, and you can choose either high-arch or medium-arch insoles depending on your preference in this case.

How can I find my foot arch type?

There’s a simple at-home test you can do to find your foot arch shape called the Wet Test. It involves stepping in a shallow amount of water and stepping on a surface to leave a wet footprint behind (a piece of cardboard, your driveway or sidewalk, or similar). By comparing the shape of the footprint with a visual image of medium, low, and high arch feet, you can determine the arch height of your own foot.
